New Format from The Traitors Creator

IDTV, creator of The Traitors, and Talpa Studios have teamed up to introduce a new psychological reality competition, Turn on the Charm, which All3Media International is taking out to the global market.

In the new format, six men and six women—all single and attractive—must flirt, strategize and manipulate their way through a high-stakes elimination game filled with unexpected drama and twists. Set against the backdrop of an iconic road trip through Italy, the game of deceit sees each contestant’s fate rest entirely in the hands of the opposite sex. To stay in the game and win a big cash prize, the singles must ensure they’re liked enough by the other gender.

Turn on the Charm season one features 12 hour-long episodes, airing on Monday and Wednesday nights on Dutch broadcaster NET5, starting Monday, October 28.

Jasper Hoogendoorn, creative director of IDTV, said: “For this format, we ‘flirted’ with Talpa Studios, and it was an amazing experience that led to this co-development. With our shared vision of creating original IP and an aligned international strategy, it was the perfect match—and a joy to work together! Following the success of The Traitors, a show that shocked audiences with its unexpected twists, we have once again crafted a reality format full of manipulation and deception. Turn on the Charm adds a thrilling layer of psychological gameplay, with a heavy dose of flirtation.”

Geertje Hoek, managing director for concepts at Talpa Studio, added: “Our high-profile collaboration with IDTV reflects our dedication to partnering with the very best Dutch creative talent. Together, we’ve developed an innovative format that truly showcases that expertise. It’s exciting to see how this partnership has evolved, blending strategic gameplay with a captivating psychological twist. Anyone expecting a typical dating show will quickly realize they’re in for something much deeper. This is psychological reality at its finest, where flirting becomes a strategy.”
