BBC Studios has secured its first-ever format sale to Lithuania after an agreement was inked with Lithuanian National Radio and Television (LRT) for Dancing with the Stars.

The local 12-part series will be produced in-house by public broadcaster LRT and will air this fall. The agreement with LRT marks the 58th local production of the multi-award-winning format.

Sumi Connock, creative director of formats for BBC Studios, commented, “Dancing with the Stars is a proven international hit that brings joy, laughter and entertainment to audiences old and young across the globe. It is fantastic to see the show continue to enter new markets and I’m thoroughly looking forward to watching the glitter ball light up Lithuania when it airs this year.”

Audrius Giržadas, head producer of LRT TV, said, “Competitive dancing is very popular in Lithuania so Dancing with the Stars is destined for success here. It’s a huge challenge but we all—dancers and production—are looking forward to the very special day in autumn.”
