Pineapple Entertainment, a part of Banijay Nordic, has been commissioned to make the new reality series Grand Canyon—The Greatest Adventure by Warner Bros. Discovery Denmark.

In Grand Canyon—The Greatest Adventure, a group of celebrities spend 16 days rafting on the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon. The series will soon make its debut in Denmark on Channel 5 and discovery+.

Aided by adventurer Thor F. Jensen, the Danish cast includes actors Andreas Jessen and Lise Baastrup, athlete Anne-Marie Rindom and handball champion Jesper Nøddesbo, musician Mohamed “Skinz” Ahmed and TV personality, host, model and actress Ibi Støving.

Kathrine Skjold, executive producer at Pineapple Entertainment, said: “Grand Canyon is like a non-scripted road movie through one of the greatest natural wonders in the world. The well-known faces are not competing in any way; they must work together to successfully live off-grid, at the mercy of nature on the grandest scale. This is a rewarding eye-opener for the celebrities, as they embark on a journey where they question their own privileges.”

Ole Rahbek, CEO of Pineapple Entertainment, added: “We are delighted that Hou Film came to us, with the idea and access to this fabulous venue, that we turned into a format with cinematic production values showcasing the incredible natural phenomena, making it a perfect high-end series for Warner Bros. Discovery Denmark’s audience, that we at Pineapple Entertainment are proud to produce.”

Pil Gundelach Brandstrup, VP of content and programming at Warner Bros. Discovery Denmark, commented: “There’s no doubt that Danes enjoy traveling abroad to inspire personal development. In Grand Canyon—The Greatest Adventure, the viewers follow more than just the physical turmoil of the group taking on the elements. They also get to follow the internal journey when they are pushed beyond their limits. This program is also visually very impressive, immersing the audience in the mighty nature of the majestic Grand Canyon and the Colorado River.”
