Apploff Entertainment has strengthened its executive team with two promotions, including upping Danielle Peress to VP of current and development.

Peress, previously director of development, joined the company a decade ago and has risen through the ranks after starting as CEO Jeff Apploff’s executive assistant. She has been instrumental in ideating game-show formats, including five seasons of Beat Shazam and FOX’s reboot of Don’t Forget the Lyrics, among others.

Most recently, Peress served as the supervising producer for NBC’s The Wheel. In her new role, she will continue to report directly to Apploff.

Zach Gelfand has also been promoted and will now serve as development coordinator. He was once an intern at Apploff Entertainment and formally launched his career at the premier game-show production shop before landing the role of executive assistant to Apploff. He will report to Peress.

“Both Danielle and Zach are invaluable to the company’s continued growth and success,” Apploff said. “Their phenomenal skills and creative ideas, coupled with a shared passion for the work we do here, are the traits that have propelled them forward and earned them their promotions. “I’ve worked hand in hand with Danielle for a decade and have witnessed her unyielding energy and monumental achievements, so I’m thrilled for her to step into her expanded role and build upon her robust relationships with our partners while fostering Zach’s organic talent.”
