Endemol Shine Australia Aims for U.S. & Global Growth with New Hire

Endemol Shine Australia (ESA) has tapped Dan Cazzola, who previously served as senior VP of unscripted development at Endemol Shine North America, as senior VP of development for U.S. and international growth.

Based in Los Angeles, Cazzola will spearhead the expansion of ESA’s English-language originals slate for the U.S. and global markets. ESA has been responsible for titles such as Married at First Sight Australia, MasterChef Australia, LEGO Masters Australia, The Summit and Family Food Fight.

The new role marks a return to the Banijay family for Cazzola, who was previously with Endemol Shine North America. During that time, he developed and sold major original series such as Deal or No Deal Island, Hot Wheels: Ultimate Challenge, Foodtastic and Domino Challenge. He also oversaw the U.S. adaptations of Banijay Entertainment formats such as LEGO Masters and Would I Lie to You?

Most recently, Cazzola was a consultant for Yes Yes Media, working across the U.S. and U.K. development and strategic growth initiatives.

“ESA’s track record of building defining versions of multi-territory, global formats and original IP that travels is thanks to the world‑class talent we attract,” said Peter Newman, CEO of ESA. “Dan’s exceptional creative vision and proven ability for working with broadcast partners to deliver major original series makes him an outstanding addition to the team.”

Cazzola commented, “ESA has the best creative team in the business, and I’ve always admired the work they do. Being back at Banijay and working with ESA on their ambitious growth strategy in the U.S. and internationally to build standout original content is incredibly exciting.”
