Tipping Point Commissioned for New Zealand

The quiz show format Tipping Point has been commissioned for a ten-part celebrity adaptation by TVNZ, with news broadcaster Daniel Faitaua set to present.

Tipping Point is a hugely successful format around the world, and we know Kiwi audiences love seeing their favorite international hits brought to life locally,” said Nadia Tolich, chief news and content officer of TVNZ. “A New Zealand celebrity edition lets us take everything audiences enjoy about the show and give it a distinctly Kiwi flavor. Daniel is a fantastic presenter, and with him at the helm—alongside a raft of well-known faces playing for charity—Celebrity Tipping Point NZ will be a fun, entertaining and competitive new addition to our prime-time lineup.”

Celebrity Tipping Point NZ, produced by Screentime New Zealand, will air later this year on TVNZ 1 and TVNZ+. Contestants take on an iconic coin-pusher machine in a battle of general knowledge skills, timing and luck.

“Delivering premium, world-class entertainment is part of our DNA at Screentime New Zealand, and we love bringing our Kiwi sensibility to much-loved international franchises,” said Philly de Lacey, managing director of Screentime NZ. “Tipping Point is a proven ratings winner across markets, and this commission with TVNZ is a brilliant opportunity to showcase the energy and play-along appeal we know resonates with audiences here.”

Tipping Point’s expansion into New Zealand marks another significant step in the format’s global journey, reinforcing its adaptability, enduring audience demand and easy-to-join-in appeal,” said Lucas Green, chief content officer of operations at Banijay Entertainment. “Across our catalogue, we’re proud to have over 30 formats produced in three or more markets, and this deal is yet another example of the strength of our creative community at Banijay Entertainment.”
