The 50 Scores Sixth Adaptation

The reality competition format The 50 has landed its sixth adaptation, with Prime Video ordering an Italian iteration.

Originally created by Banijay France’s B-Prod, The 50 sees 50 reality stars compete inside a castle under the control of a mysterious Lion-masked Game Master. Through daily challenges, the players gain the power to save others, while those left unprotected are eliminated.

The group works to build a shared jackpot of up to €50,000 awarded, not to the winner, but to one of their supporters.

Banijay Italia will be producing the Italian version for Prime Video.

The 50 is represented by Banijay Entertainment.

The 50 is bold, unpredictable and built around dynamic gameplay,” said Francesco Lauber, chief creative officer of Banijay Italia. “Its blend of strategy, spectacle and social interaction makes it a strong fit for the Italian market, and we will be bringing this ambitious format to life with a distinctive local flavor that will surprise audiences.”

Lucas Green, chief content officer of operations at Banijay Entertainment, added, “This commission further illustrates the strong appetite from streamers for premium unscripted formats. With The 50 already demonstrating its ability to scale internationally, its launch in Italy marks a significant milestone in the format’s global expansion and further strengthens our cross-market partnership with Prime Video. Banijay Italia, with its proven track record in delivering bold, high-impact formats, brings the expertise needed to deliver a strong local adaptation of The 50 that balances cultural relevance with the show’s signature scale.”
