Prime Video Slates Premiere of American Gladiators Reboot

The first three episodes of American Gladiators, a reboot of the hit physical competition format, are slated to debut on April 17 on Prime Video.

Each episode features amateur male and female contenders from across the U.S. They step into an arena to face 16 powerful American Gladiators in classic events such as Joust, Powerball, Hang Tough and The Wall and new events such as The Ring and Collision.

Only one man and one woman will conquer the arena, claim $100,000 and be crowned American Gladiator Champion.

WWE wrestler Mike “The Miz” Mizanin hosts the series.

American Gladiators is created and executive produced by Johnny C. Ferraro. Daniel Calin serves as showrunner and executive Producer, alongside Barry Poznick. Susan Janis-Mashayekhi, Sarah Happel Jackson and Adam Cooper are co-executive producers. Ramy Romany is the director.

The new reboot of American Gladiators is produced by Amazon MGM Studios. The first three episodes will premiere on April 17, with the following three debuting April 24 and the final four dropping on May 1.

American Gladiators initially ran in syndication from 1989 to 1996. It was briefly revived in 2008, but this version was closer to the British remake than the original American version.
