New Head of Scripted at Viaplay

Nordic Entertainment Group (NENT Group) has appointed Jon Petersson, who previously spent 13 years at Discovery Networks Sweden, as head of scripted at Viaplay.

In his new role, Petersson will focus on developing original series for NENT Group’s Viaplay streaming service. He is replacing Mikael Newihl, who has taken on the role as head of development at Nice Drama. Most recently, Petersson was executive producer of the series Gåsmamman and the Viaplay co-production The Truth Will Out. He will report to Fredrik Ljungberg, programming director at Viaplay.

Petersson said: “Viaplay is the Nordic region’s most ambitious drama producer. It feels great to start a new chapter at Viaplay where so many amazing projects are underway.”
