Netflix to Launch in Italy, Portugal in October

AMSTERDAM: Netflix is planning to launch in Italy and Portugal this October, alongside the previously announced plans to bring the service to Spain that same month.

The fall launch in Italy will bring users a fully localized version, offering Italian subtitles and dubbing. In Portugal, Netflix will offer Portuguese subtitles.

In both countries, the Netflix offering at launch will include such original series as Marvel’s Daredevil, Sense8, Bloodline, Grace and Frankie, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and Marco Polo, as well as the documentaries Virunga, Mission Blue and docuseries Chef’s Table, in addition to stand-up comedy specials and a wide range of programming for kids. Coming later to the Netflix services in these countries are Narcos, Club de Cuervos and Marvel's Jessica Jones.

The additions of Spain, Italy and Portugal to the Netflix footprint supports its plans to complete its 200-country global expansion by the end of 2016.
