STOCKHOLM: Cirkus, an on-demand channel that features British programming, has secured a carriage pact with Vodafone Iceland.

Cirkus was founded by the British television executives Mark Bradford and Hugh Williams. The service launched in Sweden in December 2013 and has entered Norway and Finland. ITV purchased a minority stake in the company in 2014. Now, Cirkus will debut in Iceland at the end of the month.

Mark Bradford, co-founder and director of Cirkus, said: "This is another important step forward for Cirkus in the Nordic market and we’re delighted to partner with Vodafone to add Iceland to the growing number of countries that can now enjoy our service."

Bjorn Viglundsson, the COO of Vodafone Iceland, added: "We are delighted to be bringing Cirkus to Icelandic audiences. British programming is hugely popular in Iceland and I’m sure making the best of this programming available on-demand, wherever, whenever, will appeal to our subscribers."
