CANNES: Global Screen secured a number of deals at MIPTV this week, with particularly strong interest in its new dramas Naked Among Wolves and A Dangerous Fortune.

The German sales company reports that buyers from France, Spain, Italy, Scandinavia, Asia and Eastern Europe have shown interest in the two-part A Dangerous Fortune. The adaptation of Ken Follett's best-selling novel is set for delivery in January 2016.

Naked Among Wolves, produced by UFA Fiction for Germany's ARD, attracted attention in French-speaking Canada, Italy, Spain, Scandinavia, Eastern Europe, Japan, China and South Korea. Ahead of MIPTV, the feature sold to France (M6), Benelux (Just Entertainment), Poland (Televizija Polska), Lithuania (LRT) and Austria.

Broadcasters that air the long-running Alarm for Cobra 11 and romantic novela Storm of Love have re-upped for the new seasons. Alarm for Cobra 11 heads into its 20th, while Storm of Love enters its tenth.

The family-entertainment series Arman's Secret, a new acquisition for Global Screen, garnered strong interest from France, Italy and Russia. A movie collection of 30 Finest Fairy Tales was sold into Latin America, including Brazil, and four of the latest fairy tales went to France, Benelux, Kazakhstan, Slovakia, Lithuania, Poland and Turkey. The Snow Queen was licensed into Japan.

The format rights for Crazy About Love, an Italian series, were sold to China and Russia. Option deals on the format were secured in France, Turkey and Greece.

“International buyers are interested in particular in our outstanding new TV movies Naked Among Wolves, A Dangerous Fortune and Serengeti Shall Not Die, as well as in our new family-entertainment programs,” said Marlene Fritz, the head of TV sales at Global Screen.
