Endemol France Builds Up Scripted Business

PARIS: Several changes have been made within Endemol France in an effort to bolster its scripted business.

Jean-Benoît Gillig, a Gaumont executive, is joining the company along with his scripted production operation, Léonis. Under the Endemol Fiction division, Léonis will produce series for prime time and daytime along with working on feature-length TV movies. Gillig’s role will include developing international co-productions for Endemol Group.

Gillig reports to Nicolas Coppermann, who was named managing director of Endemol France in June. He now also becomes managing director of Endemol Fiction.

Virginie Calmels continues as the CEO of Endemol Fiction, in addition to her roles as chairman of Endemol France and COO of Endemol Group.

Nora Melhi, the head of Endemol Fiction, is exiting the company.

Endemol Fiction also incorporates the production operation Les Films de la Prod.

Calmels commented: "I am thrilled to have such a high caliber of talent with us. I am in no doubt that with Nicolas, Jean-Benoît and the brilliant team at Endemol Fiction, we will soon reach our target of having scripted represent 20 percent of our business in France."
