Sky Atlantic HD Germany Sets Launch Date

MUNICH: Sky Deutschland is to launch the Sky Atlantic HD channel, which exclusively presents content from HBO, on May 23.

Sky Atlantic HD will premiere the second season of the hit series Game of Thrones, airing for the first time in Germany and Austria. Additional programming highlights at the launch of the new channel include Entourage, The Sopranos, The Wire, Six Feet Under and Band of Brothers. All series will be available in both German and the original English and Sky customers will also be able to watch selected HBO film highlights and documentaries. The new channel will be broadcast exclusively in HD and is part of the Sky Film package. The channel’s content will also be available on-demand through Sky Go and Sky Anytime.

Marcus Ammon, the deputy senior VP of programming at Sky Deutschland, said, “With Sky Atlantic HD we are opening a new dimension in entertainment.
