Spanish Content Sells Internationally

MADRID: A number of the companies included under the Audiovisual from Spain banner have already confirmed sales for their properties ahead of the MIPTV market.

7yAcción is teaming up with Endemol to develop Plan B as a stand-alone show for the international market. Edebé officially launched Four and a Half Friends, having closed financing plans with the co-production partners TV3 in Spain, ZDF in Germany and Yowza Animation in Canada. Presales for the show include HRT in Croatia, RTP in Portugal, Tooniverse in South Korea and Nickelodeon for India and the subcontinent. Explora Films signed a deal with National Geographic for the documentary The Lady of Cao, while Cin TV and Nat Geo pacted on The Dare of Garamba. Vertice Sales has closed nearly 100 commercial deals in the last few months, including an agreement for the Chinese adaptation of the format The Anthill.

Also under the Audiovisual from Spain umbrella, Vodka Capital signed up new broadcasters for Jelly Jamm, including the Milkshake block in the U.K., Télé-Québec and TVO in Canada and Televisa in Mexico. For licensing and merchandising, Jelly Jamm scored deals with Bandai in the U.S. for a master toy deal, Televisa Consumer Products for L&M in Mexico, Fotorama for toys in Mexico and Exim for L&M in Latin America. Phileas Productions’ The ATM was optioned by the Turkish producer Arti Film and The Facegroup was commissioned in Argentina following an agreement with the producer Peppermind.

Antena 3 has sold Grand Hotel to a number of broadcasters, including M6 in France. BRB is highlighting the success of Canimals, which has already been picked up in a number of countries worldwide. The Imira Entertainment animated series Lucky Fred has been sold into more than 155 territories worldwide. New deals include RTM in Malaysia, e-Vision in UAE, TG4 in Ireland and Kidz in Turkey.
