Warner Bros. Discovery has commenced production on TNT Spain’s new original comedy series No me gusta conducir.

Created by film director and screenwriter Borja Cobeaga and produced by Sayaka Producciones, No me gusta conducir will begin filming in the summer and is scheduled for release toward the end of 2022 on TNT Spain.

The six-episode series tells the story of a university professor, played by Juan Diego Botto, who narrates his experience trying to obtain a driving license at the age of 40. It is based on the director’s own personal experiences. Cobeaga wrote the scripts for the series, together with screenwriters Diana Rojo, Borja González Santaolalla, Valentina Viso, Mar Coll and Juan Cavestany.

Guillermo Farré, executive producer of the show and head of the GE channels (TNT, WarnerTV, TCM, adultswim, Toonami) for Warner Bros. Discovery in Spain, France, Africa and MENA, said: “No me gusta conducir has all the elements we look for in a series: excellent scripts, great characters and, above all, a story told with a very personal touch and heartfelt meaning. Working with Borja is an honor, and we share very similar views when it comes to fictional series. We are convinced that No me gusta conducir will follow in the footsteps of Maricón perdido and the Juan Carrasco series and be a huge success for TNT Spain.”

Cobeaga added: “TNT Spain is now the go-to channel for the best Spanish comedy series, uniting audiences together through high-quality and hugely entertaining local original productions. That’s why I’m so excited that the first series I’ve created is being produced for the channel.”
