SPI’s Filmstream Lands in Sweden

SPI International/FilmBox has secured a deal with Samsung TV Plus to bring its Filmstream FAST channel to audiences in Sweden.

Starting this month, Samsung TV Plus users in the region can access hundreds of hours of award-winning classics, independent features and world cinema movies that are available on the ad-supported digital channel. Filmstream’s current catalog includes titles from such directors as Hitchcock, Kurosawa, Fellini and others. The channel plans to expand its lineup with Hollywood blockbusters and popular hits in the future.

Georgina Twiss, managing director for Western Europe and Africa at SPI International, said: “We are very excited to expand our long-standing partnership with Samsung TV Plus to include the Swedish market for our well-received FAST channel Filmstream. This is the fifth market in which Filmstream has launched with Samsung TV Plus‚ following the U.K., Australia, India and the Netherlands—and the first of a string of launches to come in the new year.”
