In a deal worth more than €4.95 billion ($5.6 billion), Movistar and DAZN have scored the rights to broadcast LaLiga matches in Spain over the next five seasons.

The latest tender covers the period from 2022/2023 to 2026/2027. Movistar will broadcast five matches per match day plus three full match days. DAZN will stream five matches per match day. The Spanish football league says the deal value is an increase on the previous cycle.

LaLiga SmartBank, the hospitality channel, and the LaLiga Santander free-to-air match are expected to be put out for tender between February and March of next year.

“LaLiga is delighted to continue its relationship with Telefonica as a partner for a large part of its audiovisual rights, while also welcoming DAZN, the leading global sports streaming platform, to continue to grow professional Spanish football,” the league said in a statement.
