Sky Studios Promotes Nils Hartmann

Sky Studios has promoted Nils Hartmann to the newly created role of senior VP of Sky Studios Deutschland and Italia.

Hartmann will lead the development, commissioning and production of Sky original dramas and comedies for Sky Deutschland while retaining his current responsibilities for producing scripted originals for Sky Italia.

Hartmann has been with Sky Italia since 2003 and has produced originals such as Romanzo Criminale, Devils, Gomorrah and The Young Pope. In his expanded role, he will continue to report to Jane Millichip, chief content officer, and work closely with Elke Walthelm, executive VP of programming for Sky Deutschland, and Antonella d’Errico, executive VP of programming for Sky Italia.

In an internal note, Millichip said, “I am excited to see him support Sky Deutschland through their next phase of growth by harnessing the creative talent of our teams to bring customers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland even more content worth paying for. A German national, Nils brings a local perspective and a global outlook to our slate, building on the success of hit franchises such as Babylon Berlin, Das Boot and Der Pass.”
