World of Wonder has tapped Johnni Javier to run the company’s U.K. production arm.

Javier’s appointment is in line with World of Wonder’s aim to expand its global reach and remit. Under his stewardship, the company is set to tap into U.K. talent and develop shows from within the U.K. for both the local and global market.

This year alone, World of Wonder has seen the launch of two new iterations of the Drag Race franchise—RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under and Drag Race España. The Drag Race franchise is available in 193 countries through network partners and the WOW Presents Plus SVOD.

Javier began his career in television at World of Wonder UK, and after producing and directing, became head of production in 2006. He’s returning to the company from Blast! Films, where he was the director of production and operations.

Javier said: “I am thrilled to be returning to World of Wonder and to be working with such a dynamic team and creative force within the industry.”

Fenton Bailey, World of Wonder co-founder, said: “We feel very fortunate to welcome Johnni back to World of Wonder at a key point in our growth. He is a seasoned and skilled executive who understands the DNA of our brand. He will be invaluable in shepherding the continued success of World of Wonder and WOW Presents Plus in the U.K. and beyond.”
