Georgia Brown is set to make her first appearance at the Edinburgh TV Festival since joining Amazon Studios as its director of European originals.
Following the recent release of the British comedy-fantasy series Good Omens—as well as the upcoming August launch of the German docuseries on the football team Borussia Dortmund—Brown will use the session to outline her content strategy, commissioning wish list and recent highlights. She will also talk about what’s coming up for Amazon Prime Video in Europe.
The former Fremantle exec assumed the role of director of European originals in 2017. Brown has since built a team in the London Prime Video headquarters and elsewhere in Europe that aims to invigorate local production. She has also helped bring British shows like A Very English Scandal and King Lear to audiences in the U.S. on Amazon Prime Video.
CEO and Festival Director Lisa Campbell said, “We’re delighted to be welcoming Georgia to the Festival for the first time. In a period of heavy investment, where development for unscripted content is growing, delegates will be able to hear directly about Amazon’s ambitions and vision.”
