RTS Video: BBC’s Tony Hall

Tony Hall, director general of the BBC, addressed the RTS London Conference about “tomorrow’s BBC.”

In his speech, Hall talked about how global media giants have created new definitions of market scale and how audiences have changed. “The Big Shift is already upon us, and we have got to run with it,” he told the audience.

This footage was created by the Royal Television Society. It was recorded at the RTS London Conference, a biennial one-day conference that explores the accelerating pace of consolidation across global media sectors and how this drive for scale is impacting the commissioning and production landscape. The conference took place on September 18.
