Discovery Networks Deutschland has extended its long-term partnership with Swisscom, which will serve as the exclusive distribution partner for the Eurosport Player in Switzerland and Liechtenstein.

Under the new agreement, the entire Discovery portfolio and newly acquired premium live sport on Eurosport—including Friday night Bundesliga football—will be offered to Swisscom viewers. In addition, Swisscom and Teleclub subscribers will have access to the Eurosport Player, the internet-based television, streaming and catch-up service for sports content, available anytime and on any device. Subs will now be able to get the Eurosport Player in Switzerland for a discounted price, with an on-demand digital sports pass that provides coverage of such events as the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018 and 40 exclusive Bundesliga matches per season, as well as the Super Cup and four end-of-season relegation play-off fixtures.

Discovery’s factual-entertainment channels will still be available as Italian-language versions, with Eurosport 1 and Eurosport 2 also in German and French. In addition, consumers will still be able to access content offered on the free-TV channels DMAX, TLC and Eurosport 1.

Alberto Horta, the VP of strategy and commercial development at Discovery Networks Germany, said: “We’re pleased to build on our partnership agreement and now also offer all Swisscom and Teleclub customers a discounted rate to Eurosport Player, delivering premium locally relevant sports content to consumers at home, online and on the go.”
