A+E Networks UK has named former UKTV exec Dom Wilkins as head of scheduling for HISTORY UK and H2, effective July 17.

In his new role, Wilkins will supervise the scheduling of A+E Networks UK’s flagship HISTORY channel and its sister network H2. He will execute strategies to help accelerate the growth of both brands across all platforms. He will work under Dan Korn, the VP of programming at A+E Networks UK.

Wilkins previously served as programming manager for UKTV’s digital channel Really. Earlier in his career, he spent eight years at Sky as schedule manager across a number of networks, and was also head of program planning for the Sky Real Lives and Travel Channel group.

Korn commented: “In this highly competitive market, it’s vital to attract the best programming talent, so we are delighted to welcome Dom Wilkins to A+E Networks UK as head of scheduling for our flagship U.K. channel HISTORY, and H2. I’m looking forward very much to working with him.”

Wilkins added: “I’m incredibly excited to be joining A+E Networks UK. HISTORY is one of the best-loved and iconic programming brands in the U.K. and I can’t wait to get started. The U.K. needs big, bold channels with ambition and heart like HISTORY, and I look forward to working with Dan and his team on delivering the next stage of its evolution.”
