LONDON: House Productions, the BBC Worldwide-backed indie set up by Tessa Ross and Juliette Howell, has appointed Harry Dixon as commercial director.

Dixon will join the team in March and will be responsible for all legal, business and financial aspects of both the film and TV slates for House Productions as well as individual projects and investments. Dixon was previously the head of film finance at Film4, where he was a key member of the management team, responsible for revenue forecasting, analysis, project evaluation and financial aspects of production greenlighting, as well as business affairs. Credits include The Inbetweeners movies, Slumdog Millionaire, 12 Years a Slave, The Iron Lady, Suffragette and, more recently, Room, The Lobster and American Honey.

Ross and Howell commented: “We are both thrilled to be working with Harry. He has an exemplary track record as a world-class lawyer and deal-maker and his pragmatic and problem-solving approach to business will be a huge asset to House.”

Dixon added: “Being offered the chance to join House Productions and work with Juliette and Tessa was such an exciting opportunity I simply couldn’t turn it down. Whilst I am sad to be leaving the brilliant team at Film4, I’m very proud of what we’ve achieved together and look forward to continuing to work with them in my new role in the future. I am eager to take on this new challenge and work with the House team to continue growing their exceptional slate. I’m also looking forward to working alongside House’s other stakeholders, BBC Worldwide and Danny Cohen at Access Entertainment.”

Geraldine Atlee, the head of legal and business affairs for Film4, said: “Harry’s contribution to Film4 over the years has been immeasurable. He’s handled the most complex deals with tremendous skill, ingenuity and unfailing good humor—we wish him all the very best in his new role.”
