Sky Vision Places Programming in Germany & Beyond

LONDON: Sky Vision has licensed a slew of titles into German-speaking territories, including the crime mystery series Fortitude.

Fortitude was snapped up by ARTE for its German free-TV premiere, which will be followed by broadcasts on SWR and NDR. The robot competition series BattleBots was sold to Discovery for free-TV network DMAX.

Pro7 Group’s Pro7Maxx snapped up the clip show What Went Down, while Kabel1 Doku acquired nearly 50 hours of factual history titles, including The Kennedy Files and Deadly Journeys of the Apostles.

ARD and ZDF’s Phoenix licensed 25 hours of wildlife and factual history programming, including Islands & Life, Deserts and Life, The Woman Who Joined the Taliban, Snow Monkeys and Heroes of War.

RTL Geo went for The Great Migration, The Baboon King and Inventions That Rocked the World, while RTL Living picked up The Wine ShowAncient Assassins was presold to N24 Channel, which also took the crime show Death Row Doctors.

The wildlife series Big Cats: An Amazing Animal Family has landed on Servus TV in Austria and N-TV in Germany. Servus TV additionally took Walking the Himalayas and Richard Hammond’s Jungle Quest, with the former title also being sold to pay-TV network Autentic.

Dogs Might Fly is headed to Sky 1 in Germany, while Hooten & The Lady, the first three seasons of Yonderland and Sky 1’s Fungus the Bogeyman will also broadcast on Sky Germany’s youngest channel. Fortitude is returning for a second installment on Sky Atlantic early next year.
