Content Television Strengthens Sales Team with U.K. Hire

LONDON: Stephen Joy has been tapped for the newly created role of director for the U.K. and SVOD sales at Content Television.

The remit will encompass the management of U.K. sales for the Content Television portfolio, incorporating partner catalogues, broadcast television, SVOD platforms and home entertainment labels. He will also manage Content Television’s relationship with selected key SVOD platforms on a global basis as well as the transactional model for Content Television and its aggregation partners’ own TVOD/DTO label in the U.K.

Previously, Joy was the director of TV and digital for Koch Media UK, where he managed all new media accounts along with TV sales across feature film and documentary titles. Prior to this, Joy spent ten years at Entertainment One, managing EST and TVOD rights in the U.K.

Joy will report to Jonathan Ford, the executive VP of sales and distribution at Content Television, who commented, “As the flow of programming coming into the group continues to grow, it is essential that we maximize opportunities for this content in key markets such as the U.K. and significant growth areas including the SVOD sector.
