TVN Preps Online Originals for Poland

CANNES: Poland's TVN is producing a slate of original series for its OTT platform Player.pl, including a version of Web Therapy starring award-winning actress Agata Kulesza.

The OTT originals strategy was unveiled by TVN president and CEO Markus Tellenbach at a press conference in Cannes this morning. “TVN’s original online productions are developed specifically for today’s young media consumer—shorter episodes and a concentration on action to accommodate mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets as evidenced by Web Therapy," Tellenbach said.

Also on the slate are a local version of Lip Sync Battle; Start u up!, billed as the first Polish reality show dedicated to the online audience; Kuba Wojewodzki Standup; My lovestories; and second seasons of the spin-offs Kuchenne rewolucje. Powroty (Kitchen Revolutions Returns) and Zony Hollywood. Wiêcej (Hollywood Housewives).

The originals will add to a content lineup on player.pl that includes advance premieres of TVN series, full seasons of imported shows and Hollywood movies. There is also a selection of curated kids' fare. The platform serves more than 2 million unique viewers per month. Users watch an average of 8 hours and 25 minutes of content a month.
