Spanish Series Optioned for Remakes in Italy, France

MADRID: Mediaset España has closed several new agreements for its catalogue of Spanish fiction series, including Mediaset's RTI optioning La que se avecina and Chiringuito de Pepe for the Italian market.

RTI also acquired a second season of El Principe. That series was also picked up by RTP in Portugal. The private Portuguese TV group SIC went for Punta Escarlata, Ángel o demonio, La fuga and La pecera de Eva.

In France, M6 renewed the production rights for the series Scènes de ménages, the TV adaptation of the sketch show Escenas de matrimonio. The general-interest private TV channel also acquired the broadcasting rights for Los nuestros, a three-episode military miniseries.

Mediaset España also signed an agreement with DLA for the acquisition of 400 hours of Spanish series for the Latin American platform Clarovideo, owned by Carlos Slim.
