MAINZ: ZDF Enterprises (ZDFE) and Bonafide Films have entered into a first-look agreement, aimed at scripted projects for the U.K. and international markets.

ZDFE will have exclusive first-look rights for all Bonafide Films-produced scripted development, serving as deficit financier and handling worldwide distribution for the new slate of projects. The deal marks the first long-term partnership that ZDFE has entered with a drama-production company in the U.K., forming part of the ZDFE’s strategy to increase its English-language portfolio of programs.

Alexander Coridass, the president and CEO of ZDF Enterprises, said: “Bonafide Films look to create bold, standout drama and original comedy for television and film. They pride themselves on working with fantastic established and up-and-coming writing and directing talents. We at ZDF Enterprises have a long-standing experience in the development and worldwide distribution of drama programs and are convinced that we’ll be able to jointly create many international hits.”

Margery Bone, the managing director of Bonafide Films, added: “As a partner, ZDF Enterprises is hugely supportive creatively, sharing our drive to find the ambitious content that the international market demands. We are delighted to be collaborating with them and look forward to developing this relationship further into the future.”
