ProSiebenSat.1 Reports New Revenue & Earnings Record for 2014

MUNICH: ProSiebenSat.1 is hailing 2014 as a record year for the group, as revenues increased by 10.4 percent to 2.876 billion euros ($3.23 billion).

Recurring EBITDA increased by 7.2 percent to 847.3 million euros ($950 million). Underlying net income rose by 10.3 percent to 418.9 million euros ($469.8 million).

Thomas Ebeling, the CEO of the ProSiebenSat.1 Group, said: "2014 was a very successful year for ProSiebenSat.1. Once again, we set a new revenue and earnings record and achieved our 2015 targets early. The new stations and the HD distribution business are driving our growth in the TV segment. Our digital business continues to develop dynamically. In 2015, we will further expand and internationalize our digital entertainment and digital commerce business."

In the broadcasting German-speaking segment, external revenues rose by 3.2 percent to 2.063 billion euros ($2.31 billion). This was thanks to higher TV advertising revenues and growing distribution revenues. Recurring EBITDA increased by 3.6 percent to 702.8 million euros ($788.2 million) despite investments in new programs and stations.

In terms of content production and global sales, Red Arrow posted increases in revenues and earnings. External revenues increased by 63.4 percent to 202.2 million euros ($226.8 million). Recurring EBITDA rose to 19.1 million euros ($21.4 million) from the previous year's 10.6 million euros ($12 million).
