COLOGNE/BERLIN: Seasoned producer and TV exec Christiane Ruff has been lined up to become the next managing director of ITV Studios Germany, effective July 16.

Ruff will head the ITV Studios Germany business, the portfolio of which includes such titles as I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, Four Weddings, Come Dine with Me and Quizduell. She will be replacing Jan Kromschröder, who is resigning in the fall to establish his own company.

She began her television career as a producer for RTL, where she eventually was elevated to senior VP of sitcom and comedy. She later became the managing director of Sony Productions. She is currently serving as chair of the jury for the Germany TV Awards and senior lecturer at Film Academy in Ludwigsburg and the University of Bonn.

Christiane's deep understanding of producing high-quality shows, combined with an acute business sense, makes her exactly the right person to enhance and progress an already exceptionally creative pipeline."

Ruff added: "It is a privilege to be joining one of the world's most respected and creatively driven companies. I look forward to working with the incredibly talented team in Germany as well as colleagues around the world to deliver first-rate programming for the German market and beyond."
