STOCKHOLM: YouSee's Mathias Berg has been lined up as the new director of channels for TV4 Group, effective August 25.

Berg will be responsible for TV4 Group's linear and digital channels and platforms. He will also oversee the distribution, planning and viewer analysis/business intelligence. Berg will report to CEO Casten Almqvis. He is replacing Peter Lindström, who is exiting the company at the end of August.

Prior to this appointment, Berg was the director of TDC's YouSee, which he first joined as the sales and marketing director in 2011. Earlier in his career, he was a sales director for Viasat Sweden; head of marketing and analysis for TV3 and TV6; and head of business development for Airplus TV in Italy.

Almqvis said: "Mathias Berg has many years of experience in the television industry, from free-to-view and pay TV to distribution. He has also proven to be an excellent manager, with experience in business development linked to changes in consumer behavior and technological development. I am pleased to welcome Mathias Berg to TV4 and proud that he chose us in tough competition with several other players on the Swedish market."

Berg added: "TV4 is Sweden's leading broadcaster, and is in a unique position to influence and lead developments in the TV market. Remaining relevant to consumers and advertisers, irrespective of how technological developments change the structure of consumption and distribution, is a challenge that I am looking forward to taking together with new colleagues."
