LONDON: Karoline Spodsberg, who has been the managing director of Banijay International for five years, is taking on the newly created post of Nordic Group COO at Nordisk Film TV, a Banijay Group company.

Spodsberg will be reporting to CEO Jacob Houlind. She is tasked with planning, implementing and optimizing pan-Nordic development and sales operations for Nordisk. She moves into the role after MIPCOM.

Houlind commented, "Nordisk has grown the Nordic Group organically by more than 60 percent over the past five years. This has required attaining the right creative talent as well as forging external partnerships with our joint venture partners. In order to fulfill our big ambitions for both the Nordic region and for the Banijay Group we need an internationally experienced executive with strong strategic capabilities. We are delighted that Karoline is coming home to help us take the next steps on our great adventure."

Marco Bassetti, the CEO of Banijay Group, added, "Karoline created Banijay International five years ago and I am delighted that she is remaining within our family. She has been a central driving force building Banijay International and I know that she has the perfect profile to help Nordisk Film TV realize its full potential which will benefit our group as a whole."

Spodsberg said, "In five years Banijay International has gone from a standing start to a well established distribution and acquisitions business and I'm very proud of what we've achieved. The fantastic team based in London, L.A. and Paris is ready to take this company to the next level and it's a good time for me to take on a new challenge with Nordisk Film TV, one of the region's most exciting creative production companies."
