Liberty Global Exec to Fill Pay-TV Emerging Markets Role at MTG

STOCKHOLM: Modern Times Group (MTG) has named Liberty Global alum Rotem Hakim as the director of business development for Viasat Broadcasting's pay-TV emerging markets team.

Rotem will be responsible for expanding the geographical footprint of MTG's pay-TV channels and increasing their digital presence. He will also handle M&A and partnership opportunities, and support the central and local management of pay-TV emerging markets. His new position takes effect on May 26.

Prior to this appointment, Rotem spent a decade working for Liberty Global, where he most recently served as programming director. Before that, he was the head of business development for Chello On Demand, part of Chellomedia, Liberty Global's former content division.
