MUNICH: In the second quarter, ProSiebenSat.1 Group increased revenues by 11.4 percent to 624.8 million euros ($827 million), with strong results at its German networks and its production arm, Red Arrow.

The group’s underlying earnings grew 4.5 percent to 104.3 million euros ($138 million). All three segments—digital, TV networks and production—contributed to the growth. Indeed, the Digital & Adjacent segment saw its revenues increase 65.5 percent in Q2. In the Broadcasting German-speaking segment, external revenues rose in the period by 2.4 percent. SAT.1, ProSieben, kabel eins, sixx and SAT.1 Gold closed the second quarter of 2013 with German audience market share of 27.8 percent. Red Arrow revenue increased 42.2 percent.

This led ProSiebenSat.1 to increase its full-year outlook. The company said: "Against the backdrop of the positive business trend, the ProSiebenSat.1 Group affirms its outlook for 2013 and updates its revenue projection. The Group now expects revenues to increase by a mid to high-single-digit percentage for the year as a whole.

"In the second half of 2013, ProSiebenSat.1 will also further extend its core business as well as its new business areas, investing in further growth. The earnings contributions from the portfolio additions are to be largely reinvested. In the context of further increasing revenues, the Group also expects further increasing operating costs in the second half of 2013. For recurring EBITDA and underlying net income, in the full year the Group continues to expect to extend the prior year earnings. As such, the ProSiebenSat.1 Group started well into the third quarter of 2013, continuing its course of growth."
