Speakers Announced for RTS Cambridge Convention

LONDON: The Royal Television Society’s 2013 Cambridge Convention, set to take place September 11 to 13, will feature a speaker lineup that includes ABC’s Paul Lee, Microsoft’s Nancy Tellem and Channel 5’s Richard Desmond.

The theme for the Cambridge event this year is "Whose side are you on? Quality content: Who pays? Who decides? Who profits?"

"We are putting content creation firmly at the heart of the agenda," said David Abraham, the CEO of Channel 4 and chair of the convention. "Through a combination of U.K. and global industry leaders, we will examine how economics, technologies and politics are affecting the creation of high-quality creative ideas and output.”

The announced speaker lineup includes Rt Hon Maria Miller MP, Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport; Richard Desmond, founder and owner of Channel 5 parent Northern & Shell; Mike Fries, CEO of Liberty Global; Dido Harding, CEO of TalkTalk Group; Paul Lee, president of ABC Entertainment Group; Nancy Tellem, entertainment and digital media president at Microsoft; and Marc Watson, CEO of BT Vision.
