LONDON: The comedy duo of Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer, best known from the panel show Shooting Stars, have a new sitcom for BBC Two, House of Fools (w.t.), which is slated for the channel in 2014.

A BBC In-House Comedy production in association with Pett Productions, the new 6×30-minute show is set in Bob’s flat, which he begrudgedly shares with Vic, along with a steady stream of unwanted visitors. Reeves and Mortimer are joined by supporting cast members Matt Berry, Dan Skinner, Morgana Robinson and Daniel Simonsen. The sitcom promises the same unadulterated comedy that Reeves and Mortimer brought to the panel show, with uniquely surreal jokes, physical nonsense and more.

The duo commented: "We’re back where we belong and over the moon about making a series of House of Fools (w/t) for the BBC."

Shane Allen, the controller of comedy commissioning, said: “Vic and Bob are the daddies of daft comedy and it’s a total joy to watch two men in their 50s goof about so gloriously. I’m extremely proud to bring them back to the BBC in this hilarious reincarnation.

Janice Hadlow, the controller of BBC Two, added: “I’m delighted to be welcoming Vic and Bob back to BBC Two, bringing their unique blend of energy and brilliant comedy to the channel.”
