SPI International to Launch New Movie Channel

CANNES: FilmBox Arthouse, dedicated to auteur and independent films, is to be launched this summer on several DTH platforms in Europe and the U.S. through SPI International.

This will mark the sixth worldwide channel in the SPI International portfolio, coming alongside FightBox HD, FashionBox HD, Erox HD and Eroxxx HD. FilmBox Arthouse will be focused on making independent and art films more widely available to the public. A multi-screen companion app for the channel is also being put in place.

In connection with the Withoutabox submission account, SPI International has also established the Filmbox Movie Award, an annual competition whose winner will receive a cash prize of $50,000 to support his or her next movie project. All the films eligible for the Filmbox Movie Award will be aired on the Filmbox Arthouse channel.
