Pop Toon to Be Highlighted By Novovision at MIPTV

PARIS: This MIPTV Novovision is offering up Pop Toon, a large collection of international cartoons from the golden age of animation.

Pop Toon, which already has 23 pre-buys, consists of 104×22-minute short-format, dialogue-free animated shows, featuring such characters as Casper, Betty Boop, Popeye, Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and Porky Pig, to name a few. It also includes the first Superman movies and 3D animations such as Sweet Lambs, Cook and Cheep and Pozaman.

"At MIPCOM 2011, several clients asked me if it would be possible to come up with compilations of the best vintage and contemporary non-verbal animations, in the same vein as dialogue-free shows like Pop Corn TV," remarked François-Xavier Poirier, the president of Novovision. "Drawing on the success of Pop Corn, broadcast in 145 countries on 247 channels, we decided to take up the challenge. Over the course of a full year, we went out in search of animation treasures."
