LONDON: Ofcom has granted the Evening Standard a license to run a local TV service in London on DTT, with the channel to be named London Live.

The channel is expected to reach some 4 million homes, the largest footprint of all the new local TV services. In May 2012, Ofcom invited applications to run local TV services in 21 areas. Ofcom has now awarded 15 local licenses as well as the multiplex license. The London Live channel will broadcast on a specific multiplex, which is a discrete amount of spectrum reserved for local TV broadcasting on DTT.
