STOCKHOLM: Two separate agreements have been signed by C More, one with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios and another with Paramount Pictures, that renew its access to the pay-TV rights for film packages.

The exclusive multi-year agreement with MGM gives C More’s subscribers access to the pay-TV premiere of a number of films for TV, the Internet and on demand. The films will have their Nordic pay-TV premiere on C More. They include The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, the new Bond film Skyfall, The Hobbit trilogy and more.

A new multi-year first pay agreement has been signed with Paramount Pictures as well, a renewal of an existing deal between the two. This allows it to offer select Paramount films on the linear TV service and on demand on C More Play. The pact includes the studio’s new releases as well as a number of films from the library, all on an exclusive basis. Among the titles included are Puss in Boots, Hugo, Mission: Impossible—Ghost Protocol, Footloose and more.

“The MGM deal gives us access to some of the most talked about titles, such as the Bond film Skyfall and The Hobbit trilogy,” said Johan Kleberg, the CEO of C More. We are proud to be able to premiere them in the Nordic region on TV as well as on the Internet.”

“MGM is always looking for opportunities to bring our world-class library to new global audiences,” added Chris Ottinger, the president of international television distribution and acquisitions at MGM. “We are delighted to share our legendary film catalogue with the Nordic region through our partnership with C More.”

Kleberg continued, Paramount offers a wide variety of films, including many that are appropriate for the entire family, which is important to our subscribers.
