Viewster Scores Warner Bros. Titles

HAMBURG: The video-on-demand platform Viewster has reached a licensing deal with Warner Bros. for a slate of movie titles to be offered on its platform in Germany and a host of other markets.

Current releases as well as around 1,000 catalogue titles will be made available on Viewster in German-speaking territories—beginning with Germany, followed by Austria and Switzerland—and in 11 other markets, including Poland, Russia, Turkey, UAE, India and countries in Southeast Asia.
 
“Warner Bros. is a legendary producer, as well as a hugely important owner of superb movie content,” said Viewster CEO Kai Henniges. “We are delighted that the studio has recognized Viewster as a great way to deliver content on multiple devices in rapidly developing markets, and we are excited about bringing their blockbuster releases and fantastic library to our users.”
 
Tim van Dyk, the VP of digital distribution at Warner Bros. Entertainment GmbH, noted, “Providing consumers with more choices and improving the movie experience at home is at the heart of Warner Bros.’ digital strategy. Viewster is an important platform, which can be accessed on many Smart TV devices, as well as offering a cloud-based option for consumers to buy and store their favorite movies.”
