ProSiebenSat.1 Unveils Two New Channel Brands

UNTERFÖHRING: In an extension of its pay-TV portfolio, ProSiebenSat.1 is gearing up to launch two new channels this spring: ProSieben FUN and SAT.1 emotions.

ProSieben FUN, set to launch in May, will be an entertainment service geared toward young viewers. The 24-hour channel will feature ProSieben’s most successful TV shows and comedy formats, alongside blockbuster movies, U.S. series, music highlights and action sports events.

SAT.1 emotions, also set for a May launch, will be the pay-TV spinoff of SAT.1 derived from Sat.1 Comedy. The channel will offer modern entertainment, filled with emotion. The programming will revolve around dramas, desires, romance and love, and will feature SAT.1 telenovelas, prime-time series and big SAT.1 movies.

These channels join ProSiebenSat.1’s existing pay-TV service, kabel eins CLASSICS.

Christoph Bellmer, the head of new TV ProSiebenSat.1 and CEO of the three pay-TV channels, said: "We launched our pay-TV program more than five years ago and have experienced very successful growth since then. We have an excellent lineup of now three channels. Viewers will find exactly what they expect of our strong program brands. Thus, we are placing an even greater emphasis on quality, because we are convinced there will be more growth in the pay-TV sector."
