UNTERFÖHRING: Sky Deutschland has signed agreements with a trio of German independents that add movies such as Intouchables, Ides of March and The Expendables 2 to its lineup.

The new contracts, with Splendid, Telepool and Tobis, include the exclusive pay-TV rights to some 30 films until 2014. Further titles include Gone, Playing the Fields, Last Stand and One Day. In addition to linear broadcasting, Sky also scooped up the VOD and exclusive SVOD rights, for Sky Select, Sky Anytime and Sky Go.

Gary Davey, the executive VP of programming at Sky Deutschland, said: “These agreements show once again that Sky Deutschland delivers the best film service for its customers. In 2011, Telepool, Splendid and Tobis were among the most important film suppliers in Germany and we are very proud to present their films to our customers alongside other distributors such as Tele Munchen, Wild Bunch, SevenOne and Warner Bros. These deals show how important contracts with independent German film suppliers are as a part of our goal to constantly improve the quality of our film service.”
