LUXEMBOURG: Guillaume de Posch, former CEO of ProSiebenSat.1 Group, has been tapped as COO of the RTL Group effective January 1, 2012, to drive "expansion in new businesses and markets," says CEO Gerhard Zeiler.

De Posch is tasked with overseeing corporate strategy and business development from the company’s headquarters, with responsibility for RTL Group’s businesses in the Netherlands, Belgium and radio operations in France. He will sit on the RTL Group Executive Committee alongside Zeiler, CFO Elmar Heggen and Andreas Rudas, EVP for regional operations and business development in CEE and Asia.

“I am very happy that Guillaume de Posch has decided to join RTL Group in this new function which will be vital to drive RTL Group’s expansion in new businesses and markets," Zeiler said. "Guillaume has a truly unique expertise in all aspects of the international broadcasting business, combined with a deep understanding of the technological challenges for the media industry in the digital age. I wish Guillaume the best of success in his new position and look forward to a close cooperation.”

“I am delighted to join Europe’s number one free-TV-broadcasting group, especially as this marks my return to the company in which I first started my broadcasting career in 1993," de Posch added. "I am very much looking forward to working with RTL Group’s first-class international management team.”

De Posch’s first media industry post was at Compagnie Luxembourgeoise de Télédiffusion (CLT), which became RTL Group in 2000. He left for TPS in 1997 and was there until he moved to ProSiebenSat.1 in 2003. Since January 2009, he has been advising several European and U.S. broadcasters.
