LONDON: ITV Studios and the former Channel 4 drama commissioners Camilla Campbell and Robert Wulff-Cochrane have set up a new joint-venture scripted production company, Noho Film and TV.

Campbell and Wulff-Cochrane have spent the last two years at Channel 4 heading up the drama commissioning, with credits that include, among others, Misfits, Beaver Falls, Skins, Sirens and Top Boy. Now, the two will take on the position of creative director at the 50/50 joint venture with Board representation from ITV Studios. Noho Film and TV will start development on a number of projects in the first half of 2012. The company’s initial focus is on scripted drama targeting a young-adult audience.

Campbell and Wulff-Cochrane commented: “We are incredibly excited about setting up our own production company and delighted that ITV Studios is backing us in this way. We’ve had a fantastic time at Channel 4 and leave behind many great friends and colleagues. We’ve also been lucky to work with an extraordinary array of creative talent and hope that through Noho Film and TV we can continue working with the best writers and directors across theatre, film and television to make outstanding shows.”

Kevin Lygo, the managing director of ITV Studios, said: “This joint venture is a new way for ITV Studios to work with creative talent and continue to build our drama output. Camilla and Robert have commissioned some of the most successful and interesting young adult drama in recent years; with their creative leadership we expect Noho Film and TV to quickly develop a strong production slate.”

Denise O’Donoghue, the managing director of ITV Studios UK, added: “Camilla and Robert’s combined talent, experience and wide ranging relationships is a very exciting combination. This is a fantastic opportunity for ITV Studios to contribute to a venture with a great deal of potential and be part of the success this brings.
