World Screen’s Anna Carugati to Lead “Power Shifts” Drama Panel

On Monday, October 16, during MIPCOM, World Screen’s Anna Carugati will lead the panel session Power Shifts: Who Will Take the Throne of Drama?, featuring executives from Endemol Shine, ITV Studios, A+E Networks and Beta Film.

Taking place from 2:30 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. in Esterel, Palais 5, the session will feature Maria Kyriacou, the president of international at ITV Studios; Cathy Payne, the chief executive of Endemol Shine International; Moritz von Kruedener, the general manager of Beta Film; and Patrick Vien, executive managing director of ‎international at A+E Networks.

The panel will discuss how the boom of European/non-U.S. original dramas, and their success both locally and internationally, has significantly transformed the balance of power. European broadcasters are less dependent on U.S. shows. But are they actually better positioned when it comes to deal rights? Stateside, how does international distribution impact commissioning? Who really holds the power—and which market will be the next to dominate must-see TV?
