Two Rivers Hires for Drama

Two Rivers Media is ramping up its push into drama with two new hires.

Marcus Wilson joins the indie as head of drama. Wilson comes to Two Rivers from Fifty Fathoms Productions. His EP credits include Luther (for BBC Studios/BBC One), The A Word (Fifty Fathoms/Keshet UK/BBC One) and The Worst Witch (CBBC/ZDFE/Netflix), while producer credits include Doctor Who (BBC Wales/BBC One), Whitechapel (Carnival/ITV1) and Our Zoo (Big Talk Productions/BBC One).

Wilson said: “I’m incredibly impressed by Two Rivers’ ambition and energy and the experience of the creative team Alan has assembled. The appetite for new stories and new voices has never been greater, and we’re going to put the writer at the heart of everything we do. I want Two Rivers Drama to support established writers and new talent alike and help them bring their vision to the screen. We‘re going to tell original, exciting stories that will resonate around the world, and I can’t wait to get started.”

Kathryn Shrubb also joins Two Rivers, as development executive. Shrubb was formerly senior script editor at Tall Story Pictures, where her credits included Bancroft (ITV). Shrubb was previously a script editor at BBC Studios, working on the crime drama Luther (BBC One). Prior to this, she was an assistant script editor on Silent Witness (BBC One) and Three Girls (BBC One), among others.

Alan Clements, managing director of Two Rivers Media, said: “Drama is very important to the development of Two Rivers, so we are very excited to have Marcus and Kathryn on board. Not only have they both been involved in some of the U.K.’s highest-profile drama projects of the last 15 years, they are used to producing drama which is creatively exciting and commercially successful. That’s the perfect combination for us.

“It is particularly exciting to be finalizing our senior creative team with the appointment of Marcus. I loved working with him on Taggart, so know that he is the perfect person to be leading our push into drama.”
