MUMBAI: The India-based TV-content sales agency GoQuest Media Ventures has licensed the Turkish crime drama series Ezel into Nigeria.

GoQuest Media Ventures licensed the drama from Eccho Rights, which distributes the show internationally. Ezel will become the first Turkish drama to air in Nigeria. It is produced by Turkish production company Ay Yapim and centers on Omer, who seeks revenge after he is betrayed by his friends and the love of his life. Earlier this year, GoQuest Media licensed Ezel to a channel in Uganda.

“We have always enjoyed good relationships with broadcasters in Nigeria and continue to license popular Indian series in the territory,” said GoQuest Media’s managing director Vivek Lath. “Continuing with our initiative to provide innovative content, we look forward to bringing interesting game-show formats and entertaining scripts to Nigeria in the near future.”

"Ezel continues to go from strength to strength,” added Handan Özkubat, the head of the Istanbul office at Eccho Rights. “The great story lines, beautiful production values and top-class actors mean this show has wide appeal. We hope that this deal with Nigeria and the previous one with Uganda are just the start of our relationship with GoQuest Media and the African continent."
